Scout scholarships for college from past scouting achievements are made available for those students who are active participants in Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. This program was specifically established for the purpose of honoring the character and Legacy of President Ronald Regan by offering financial assistance to applicants who demonstrate citizenship, leadership and integrity. Each year, about 20 students are selected to receive a scholarship worth $10,000. These alternative Scout scholarships are renewable for up to four years, for a total of $40,000.

There are also numerous scholarships for Scouts that are sponsored annually by corporations, foundations, colleges and universities.
